100/week Challenge---Week 20 S&P 500: 1994
I continue to like BBL, GM, and MCD at these levels and will add until I reach a full position in each. Other companies on my radar for next week are MO, DE, PAYX, GE, KO, PEP, AND KMI.
Keep doing it, MDP! You're on fire :) Great picks and I like your watchlist for next week!
ReplyDeleteRyan,
DeleteThanks for the encouragement. Hopefully we continue to get some weakness is some high quality companies. I really like BBL and MCD here.
MDP
MCD at current price is a good buy.
ReplyDeleteTawcan,
DeleteMCD may drift lower as the whole world is piling on right now. At 3.5% yield or higher I will keep adding.
MDP
Nice work here! I like the MCD, ESV, and BBL pickups here, and have been looking at BBL closely myself, while continuing to build a MCD position in my Loyal3 account. Of your watchlist, I like DE and GE especially, given the nature of my current diversification.
ReplyDeleteW2R,
DeleteI needed to add to my positions in MCD and BBL, so a pullback is welcomed. DE and GE are looking cheap. I am pretty heavy in GE and have no position in DE, but I hope to initiate one soon.
MDP
MDP,
ReplyDeleteAnother weekly challenge conquered. :)
They all seem like reasonable purchases. It'll be interesting to see how the moves that BBL has been making lately will pan out. I think I'll probably have to sell the company listed in Australia, but we'll see.
Keep up the great work!
Best regards.
DM,
DeleteBBL is under heavy pressure right now, but it looks pretty solid especially at 4% yield. Thanks for visiting!
MDP
Thanks for sharing another of your weekly purchases. I see you picked up some MCD today which looks like a good call considering their nice drop today. I have been watching that one for a little while too since they dropped from their highs of around $103. I still may pick some up this month.
ReplyDeleteDivHut,
DeleteMCD is taking a huge hit and reminds me of TGT at the beginning of the year. It continues to be under heavy selling pressure, but that is when I usually like to buy! :-)
MDP
Nice purchases!
ReplyDeleteI am looking at buying some BBL as a new position. Also tempted to add some ESV even if already heavy on it... hard to pass on at about 6% yield now ;). Cheers.
Fab,
DeleteESV and BBL continue to be attractive in my opinion. I too am heavy in ESV, but I still need to add more BBL.
Thanks for the comment!
MDP
Looks like BBL, MCD and ESV are trading at great price right now.
ReplyDeleteHHWG,
DeleteThey both look good right now. The prices still may drop a bit, but the yields are excellent!
MDP
Great purchases MDP. You mentioned that you will continue to buy GM, MCD etc until you reach full position. What do you define as full position? I am looking to buy KO and PEP as well since it has been on my watch list since August.
ReplyDeleteDGJ,
DeleteGood question. Right now, I would say between 5 to 6K per stock. Next year once I start selling off more mutual funds, it will be closer to 8-10k. I would like to buy more PEP, but the price has really run up. I will probably hold my nose and start buying some shares anyway. There are too many companies like JNJ and MO that are getting away from me. XOM is also one that I need to buy and the price is coming back down. Too many good companies to choose from....I am getting confused just typing this reply. :-)
MDP
Nice buys MDP! I like them all...you've done well missing up a few solid plays (MCD, VZ, BBL) with a few more riskier plays (ESV, GM). :) Together, I think you've picked up a nice mix this week. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteBTW, congrats on making it to week 20 of your $100/week challenge. Great progress. Keep it up my friend. AFFJ
AFFJ,
DeleteThanks for the encouragement. Some of the names are not the "garden variety" dividend growth stocks most buy, but I like a little variety to keep me from getting bored. :-)
