August 2017 Net Worth

All figures are generated from Mint.com. It's good to see an $8,000 monthly gain. I'm getting really close to reaching escape velocity. The only account that appears to have gone down is my house. The value fell from $131,000 to $129,000. The two month home value has fallen about $7,000 from $136,000 to $129,000.

The job front is still a bit shaky, but I'm holding on. It does feel good to have enough FU money not to worry about things. Many others are continuing to sweat their asses off worrying. In fact, we closed one department about three weeks ago and laid off 8 workers. Crazy times indeed!

  1. Glad to hear you're still holding on with the job - hopefully that lasts for a while so you can keep building up that NW.

Things are coming together nicely! Another six months and I'm FI for sure. In the mean time I'm just gonna keep stacking paper!

    1. Lanny,

Stacking paper day in and day out! I've been pretty lazy, just working, chillin, and chasing the ladies!

  4. Great network MDP. Hopefully there will be a change in trend on the value of the house. But otherwise, solid report.

  5. The future is yours! The FU money is amazing! All that possible when you can control the spending knowing that this money will last for a long long time. Some people can have that much networth but unable to call it off because they're busy to keep up with the Jones's lifestyle. I have to remind myself of that everyday.

    1. vivianne,

It's definitely a difficult balance. I'm pretty frugal, but nothing like "Root of Good" frugal. He can feed a family of 4/5 on $300 a month. Hell I spend more than that on my bar tabs each month. I suppose if I lost my job, I could get really tight if I need to.
