  1. Hi MDP,

I tip my hat to you once again. Huge numbers on both passive income and capital invested. Well done!

You're absolutely right, there are some very low prices in oil and energy currently. I believe there are some good bargains among them too.

    All the best!

    1. Huw,

I think most people are looking to making acquistion in the energy space. I know I am.

  2. Nice work MDP. You're so close to breaking the $1000 monthly dividend line, you can probably taste it. I will put some money to work in BBL on Monday. Anything you're looking at for next week?

    1. Bryan,

Thanks for the comment. I am probably going to look at CVX, XOM, Shell, and maybe BBL. IBM is also on my watch list.

      Take care,

  3. Awesome numbers MDP! Good grief man... The passive income and the amount invested is truly awesome. I've been picking up BBL, BP and XOM as well, trying to take advantage of the decline in energy stocks.

I really like the three choices you mentioned. They have been and will be on my radar this week.

  4. Close to $1k for the month is awesome. Your forward dividend income is truly going to be huge. Do you plan on investing this aggressively for the foreseeable future or will you temper your new buys? Thanks for sharing and inspiring others.

    1. DivHut,

I will be slowing things down a bit (I hope). The energy pullback is causing my trigger finger to be itchy.

  5. MDP,

Cannot be more than amazed by almost crossing $1K in the month of November (the non-traditional dividend paid month)! Just awesome and I cannot wait to see what your consistent dividend income stream brings, come 2015. I know December will be an earth shattering month for you, in terms of Dividend income and we are extremely pumped to read that one as well. Pretty nice with dividends... received $100 already from a few companies that pay on 12/1 - have to love seeing the cash flowing back and in decent chunks! Congratulations again and hope you have a nice Sunday!

Wow that's cool that you have banked $100 already. I really like the way you are building your portfolio. Keep up the great work. Stretch for 5k in forward dividends. I know that you can do it.

    1. AG,

I actually don't keep track of the div dates. If I miss the dividend this month, I'll pick it up in three months.

Thanks, my friend. I look forward to a quieter 2015. But if bargains present themselves, I will start buying heavy again.

  9. MDP,

Almost 1k in November, and here I am thinking towards next year wanting to hit 1k for the whole damn year. Bravo.

Also those oil prices should keep the energy sector interesting at least.

Awesome income, my friend. That last year of intense buying is certainly paying dividends (literally and figuratively) now. :)

I hope to catch up to you at some point this lifetime!

    Keep up the great work.

    Best regards.

  11. Well done, MDP!

You've got yourself a nice income stream going on, but that's no surprise considering the amount of money you're deploying every month. Keep lighting the way, pal!

  15. I noticed that ESV currently has a Payout Ratio of 147%. Are those ratios commonly this high among companies in the energy sector? For most stock, I tend to stay under the 50% mark.

    1. Joel,

I'm afraid if the oil prices stay at their present level or lower for too long ESV's dividend payout ratio will be lowered the hard way.....ie a dividend cut. :-(

    2. I'm a fairly new investor, but one thing that I tend to look at is for companies that managed to pay their regular dividend during the last economy downturn(around 2008). This tells you that their finances are in order, and can endure/anticipate another downturn.

I guess we'll find out late Feb. Hopefully by then there will be signs of improvement in oil, but for now, you at least know that you'll get the upcoming .75 div.

      Stay positive.
