  • BP --- $550
  • PAYX --- $500
  • XOM --- $250
  • MCD --- $200
  • IBM --- $200

Total new capital invested in December is $3900.

WOW!!! This is an awesome way to ring in the new year of 2015! This is the first month I have ever surpassed $2000 in any month in my taxable account. CAIBX paid a "special dividend" this month like they did in March and this really helped power my totals. Also I received over $300 for the first time ever in my junk bond mutual fund, AHITX.

It really feels great to see this type of result, especially after an exhausting year trying to build up my portfolio.

From an individual stock perspective, it is a tad bit worrisome seeing so much income coming from ESV and BP. Those two companies accounted for 14.66% of my monthly total.

As 2015 progresses, I feel confident that these two companies will have less of an impact on my overall dividend income. Well actually if ESV cuts or eliminates its dividend it could really have a lesser impact.....Hopefully that isn't what happens.

Anyway, it's a new year and I can't wait to continue with the construction of my dividend pipeline.

Thanks buddy. A lot of starts aligned themselves especially a big special dividend from my mutual fund. It may be quite some time before this happens again. It will be great when it does.

  3. MDP,

Wow. Congrats on the huge month. $2,000 in passive income! Phenomenal. :)

And you still invested almost $4,000, even though you're "slowing down". Ha!

Keep up the great work. These kinds of totals would render me financially independent. I'd be at the beach a lot more!

    Best of luck throughout 2015!

    Cheers.

Thanks, my friend. When this number become the monthly average, I will be FI as well. That will still take quite a bit of time. I will keep working to reach that level though.

$300 a month in passive income is a great start. You are making more passive income than 98% of the population. Keep building your portfolio and the income will only increase.

  9. Congratulation. It is a dream for every dividend player to collect this awesome amount.

But sorry i must ask a little bit in more detail.
We talk about your top positions:
    •CAIBX
    •AHITX

I am from Germany and i ask me how can i invest in these two positions also. Do you have a Isin number or it is only for USA Citizen?

P.s. Happy new year and a healthy und successful year 2015

P.s. Thank you in advance for your patience

    1. Sky,

CAIBX and AHITX are not stocks. They are mutual funds. I don't know if they are available for purchase in Germany. CAIBX consists mostly of dividend paying companies and AHITX is a high yield (junk) bond fund.

      Have a great 2015!

  10. MDP,

D A M N!!!! That is sick! Over $2k?! That was 50% of my dividend income in 2014 and you did it in one month... straight destroying it! This is huge motivation for us - if I had 2K in dividend = done, that's it.

Haha, but seriously, congratulations. Your next December won't be as impacted by just the two, as you've been on an investing frenzy this year. Also, more dividend increases are coming down the pipeline from those companies that paid you this year. Great job, huge impact to the DGi community and is just awesome to see. Pumped about this MDP, very pumped.

Talk soon and great way to finish!

Thanks buddy. Yeah this was a crazy year. After slowing down a bit over the past couple of months, a dividend month like this really shows the result of all those "planting and cultivating" months.

Keep fighting hard over there....you're doing great!

  11. HOT DAMN. That is some serious cash coming in!

You put me to shame with your "slowing down." $4k invested in one month is considered flooring it for me! :)

Glad to see you are beginning to reap the benefits of your crazy meat-grinding year! Congratulations!

  14. Nice haul :) - you topped my Dec dividends from taxable + 401k combined with that (1509 + 770 for me). 2K/month from taxable is about where I'm targeting to consider myself retire-able.

I saw in your goals post coming up with plan for utilizing your 401K in early retirement - I'll be interested to see your plan.

    Happy new year

Nice job with your December dividends. I am not 100% sure what to do with my 401k when I unplug from the work force, but I will probably use the equal installment distribution plan (72-t) along with my dividends.

  15. Congrats on a super awesome December. Cracking $2k in a single month is a tremendous achievement. You have to love those "special" dividends. With all that new capital infused last month you are only setting yourself up for a strong first quarter of dividend income in 2015. Thanks for sharing and continued inspiration.

Thanks. I am pumped about 2015, though I may not hit 2k again for a while and maybe not again this year. I plan on adding energy for a little while longer, but look to add more traditional consumer stocks the rest of this year.

  17. Yes very impressive month for sure, I am not disappointed with my December month as I received about 1550 dollars of dividend money reinvested into my funds. I would have liked to see the total you made in 2014 for all dividends. Good luck in 2015.

$1550 is damn impressive and you should be thrilled to receive that much money. My total passive income for 2014 was just over $12,000 and you can find the breakdown on my "Dividend Spreadsheet" tab.

  18. Your progress is really impressive! I also really like your weekly purchases approach through sharebuilder. I think I might open a sharebuilder account at some point too. It looks like a solid system to spread the money out a bit. Now I'm either waiting for a $1.5k or $2.5k purchase to reduce impact of commissions.

I've not been investing for very long, but I hope to be where you are in a couple of years! Thanks for sharing & all the best in 2015.

  19. WOW!!! I'm very jealous of that compounding effect you have going on there. I know part of this monthly report include special dividends but at the end of the day, it is still $2K plus that you can put back to work for you.

Hope 2015 brings you an even better year! Cheers! AFFJ
