KMI raises dividend --- New yield is 4.29%

Today Kinder Morgan announced that it is raising its quarterly dividend to $.45 which is up from $.44 last quarter. It also represents a 9.76% increase from the year ago dividend of $.41.

The ex-dividend date is Jan 29th and the pay date is Feb 17th.

Since I own 233.76 shares, my yearly dividends will increase $9.35 if there are no more increases during the next year.

  1. That's about the 10% they have been shooting for. Looking forward to future increases around 10% as well. Great news.

    1. Captain,

Yeah I like the idea of $2.00 a share in dividends in the next couple of years.

  2. Nice, gotta like that big raise on an already high yield. I'm so happy with this holding and really want to add more at some point. I wonder if I'm being greedy by wanting it to fall a bit first... Wishing you well!

    1. Ryan,

High yield and high dividend growth is a perfect combination. I want to add more in the 30s. Of course a year ago I wanted to add more MO in the 30s. :-(

    1. Adam,

Tell me about it. Hopefully the business system is successfully set up for many years to come. I am glad the three companies were combined as that should help simplify things in the future.

  5. MDP,

This is excellent news. I've been long KMI since January of last year, and I must say they consistently impress me, possibly more than any other stock.

    1. DG,

Congrats. It sounds like you picked up shares around the lows of the year. This is probably my favorite business as well.

  6. Nice news. I thought KMI mentioned a $2.00 dividend this year. With the first dividend being 0.45, they need to increase it quite a bit for the remaining quarters. With oil prices being where they are, I am not sure what will happen. Nevertheless, the increase is great with an already yield.

    1. DGJ,

I am surprised KMI has not fallen like the other energy names in recent months. As far as the $2.00 a share, I thought that was the goal for 2016.

  7. MDP,

Nice work catching the increase, always loving it, especially since they do it throughout the year, they have a goal and they will get there. Pumped!
