September 2016 Recap

The dividends photo is a tight squeeze so I'll manually type the summary below as well.

Here is the summary of the dividends I received in my taxable account.

  • PFE --- $90.78
  • XOM --- $77.30
  • BP --- $67.18
  • RDS-b --- $65.80
  • GM --- $61.29
  • WFC --- $51.30
  • MSFT --- $29.52
  • SO --- $28.00
  • TGT --- $24.00
  • TROW --- $12.42
  • GILD --- $11.75
  • GS --- $7.80
  • NEA --- $6.88
  • ESV --- $1.70

Total dividends received for September are $535.72.

September was a fantastic month for dividends and the investments from earlier months are starting to pay off....literally.  As always, I reinvested all the dividends back into the companies paying them.

As you can see I also added $18,419.83 in fresh new capital which increased my forward dividends by$584.88

The fourth quarter of this year should be really solid and I can't wait to continue adding more shares of great companies.

Forward dividends are around $4050.

  1. I wish I could put that kind of capital to work for me. Amazing. I wish I would have bought FLO at $14.62 !

    1. Captain,

Thanks! The capital primarily is from the cash I accumulated from the late 2015 portfolio liquidation. Hopefully I can continue to invest heavily. I really would like to seem some kind of election shake out in the market. Things are starting to look interesting!

    1. FerdiS,

I love the future dividend outlook. Like I mentioned in my reply to the Captain, the infusion is the result of last year's portfolio liquidation. I am ready to add more as the prices come down.

  4. Your portfolio has been screaming by since you started the rebuild. Those large purchases are really bringing in some real dividend dollars and it didn't take all that long either. Of course, with another round of $18k making it into your portfolio the last quarter should be awesome. Thanks for sharing.

    1. DivHut,

Hopefully the WFC turmoil and the elections will continue to create opportunities. I really would like to see a 20% market drop. Of course those opportunities are fleeting and evaporate quickly.

  5. Nice month! That $18k looks like it was put to great use. I hope to pick up more EMR soon as well.

    1. Scott,

I would love to see EMR drop back into the $40s. The dividend growth is impressive even if the most recent raise looking rather utility-like.

  6. MDP -

Can we say that you are back? Can we say that your portfolio missed you? Killing it here, may have to call 9-1-1 on the divvys you received in just a short time coming back to investing. Keep kicking ass man, blaze the trail.

  9. Hey that is a great amount for monthly dividend income. It is really something to finally break a consistent 500 dollar month. I hope to be there 1 day. On a yearly basis I am close to 400-500 range but most of it is sporadic chunks, mostly in December. Good luck in October.
