$100/week Challenge---Week 16 S&P 500 1930
ESV, BP, and PFE continue to give me opportunites to lower my cost basis. The market as a whole however, continues to be fairly resilient as the Dow is dead even on the year and the S&P is up about 5%.
Stocks on my radar for next week are T, GM, JNJ, XOM, CLX, MCD, BAX, CVX, JPM, and PG.
MDP, good stuff as usuall! I added MCD today. I need to do some DD on ESV. Looks attractive at first glance.

AA,
DeleteThanks, my friend. I'm working a helluva a lot of hours at work trying to build this dividend machine. I will also continue to add MCD at these levels and lower.
MDP
Hi MDP,
ReplyDeleteI'm envy with the amount you can reinvest weekly. I wish I have the same amount so that my FF will come sooner. All the best to you.
David
David,
DeleteThanks for visiting. My work career has been a snowball building much like dividend investing. I started out in sales 20 years ago making $50K and spending 55k. I finally got my shit together 10 years ago and have been working hard climbing the ladder, but more importantly saving every penny I could to pay off everything I own including my house. My investments I make today are because of many small sacrifices compounded over time.
Best of luck on your journey!
MDP
Nice purchase MDP, you managed to get some of these stocks while they are still low from the August dip.
ReplyDeleteAlso I nominated you for a Liebster award if your interested you can check it out here. http://www.captaindividend.com/2014/08/liebster-award-nomination.html
Cheers,
CD
Thanks for the nomination Captain.

MDP,
ReplyDeleteAnother week and another set of great purchases. MCD looks really attractive at these levels and I might add add to my position soon.
DGJ
DGJ,
DeleteMCD looks solid and I will continue to add to my positions at these prices and lower.
MDP
I'm looking in adding onto our positions for BP, VZ, and MCD as well. Which discount broker are you using so the trading fee doesn't take up huge percentage of the overall interaction?
ReplyDeleteTawcan,
DeleteI started using Capital One Sharebuilder at the beginning of the year. At the time they had a program that allowed 12 purchases a month for $12 and any purchase over the 12 is only a $1 per purchase. The only requirement is the stocks have to be selected by Monday's market close and the purchases take place on Tuesdays.
Unfortunately they no longer offer this program to new investors.

A few great purchases MDP...We also picked up a few shares of MCD and ESV recently. Both are companies appear very attractive right now. :) AFFJ
ReplyDeleteAFFJ,
DeleteESV and MCD definitely look good here. They both may come down a little, but that is ok with me. Could you imagine picking up shares of MCD at 4%?? I doubt that happens but you never know.
Thanks for stopping by!
MDP
Hello MDP,
ReplyDeletegreat purchases! I am thinking to buy more MCD and maybe ESV too.
HHWG,
DeleteThanks. Keep up the great work yourself. The bargains are becoming available. Stay alert!
