Weekly Sharebuilder Purchases

Here are my automatic investments for this week.

  • ESV:  10.20 shares @ $49.00 --- Yield  6.12%
  • BP:  10.59 shares @ $47.23 --- Yield  4.95%
  • VZ:  10.27 shares @ $48.69 --- Yield  4.35%
  • PFE:  17.77 shares @ $28.14 --- Yield 3.70%
  • MCD:  5.35 shares @ $93.40 --- Yield  3.47%

Total capital invested is $2500 ($500 in each company).  The combined yield of these purchases is and 4.52% and will add $112.95 to my yearly dividends.

$100/week Challenge---Week 16   S&P 500  1930

ESV, BP, and PFE continue to give me opportunites to lower my cost basis.  The market as a whole however, continues to be fairly resilient as the Dow is dead even on the year and the S&P is up about 5%.

Stocks on my radar for next week are T, GM, JNJ, XOM, CLX, MCD, BAX, CVX, JPM, and PG.

    1. AA,

Thanks, my friend. I'm working a helluva a lot of hours at work trying to build this dividend machine. I will also continue to add MCD at these levels and lower.

  2. Hi MDP,

I'm envy with the amount you can reinvest weekly. I wish I have the same amount so that my FF will come sooner. All the best to you.

    1. David,

Thanks for visiting. My work career has been a snowball building much like dividend investing. I started out in sales 20 years ago making $50K and spending 55k. I finally got my shit together 10 years ago and have been working hard climbing the ladder, but more importantly saving every penny I could to pay off everything I own including my house. My investments I make today are because of many small sacrifices compounded over time.

Best of luck on your journey!

  4. MDP,
Another week and another set of great purchases. MCD looks really attractive at these levels and I might add add to my position soon.

  5. I'm looking in adding onto our positions for BP, VZ, and MCD as well. Which discount broker are you using so the trading fee doesn't take up huge percentage of the overall interaction?

    1. Tawcan,

I started using Capital One Sharebuilder at the beginning of the year. At the time they had a program that allowed 12 purchases a month for $12 and any purchase over the 12 is only a $1 per purchase. The only requirement is the stocks have to be selected by Monday's market close and the purchases take place on Tuesdays.

Unfortunately they no longer offer this program to new investors.

    1. AFFJ,

ESV and MCD definitely look good here. They both may come down a little, but that is ok with me. Could you imagine picking up shares of MCD at 4%?? I doubt that happens but you never know.

      Thanks for stopping by!
