Recent Buy --- VFC

Today I added to my VFC position.

  • VFC:  35 shares @ $49.61 --- Yield  3.39%

Total capital invested is $1743.23 and will add $53.20 to my yearly dividends. This increases my share count to 145. This will probably be my last addition for a while.

Forward dividends are $6900.00. $7k is ohhhhh so close!

    1. DGI,

Every day VFC seems to fall hard early and then rebound. I couldn't resist the urge to pick up a few shares today.

  2. VFC gets better looking with each leg down. Nice pick up under $50. A great long term hold for any portfolio.

    1. DH,

No doubt about it. I'm not sure why the extreme downward pressure right now. No matter, I love the yield especially around 3.5%!!

Very nice buy! Even in very inflated markets deals are still popping up. Great job!

D A Y U M! Holy crap, under $50?! That's a killer price point, didn't even realize it dipped below there. Keeping my eyes on it, its a perfect price for an aristocrat.

    1. Lanny,

The price is insane right now! I am glad to lower my basis a bit with the purchase. I still have many other positions to build, but I jumped on the VFC train today!

  6. My hands are itchy as hell to buy VFC as well. I originally put in an order to buy at $50.05 but then changed my mind after reading comments on SA and seeing how retails are doing in general. Now my target buy price is at $48.05.

I also fear for missing the boat as VFC has been quickly bouncing back up over $50 in past week or so with every drop. Just -3% more to go!!!

    1. Anonymous,

I know exactly how you feel. I remember buying BA a year ago for $100 and selling at $120 or so and then wanting to buy back in at $100. Now it's around $170. What might have been...:-)

  7. Looks like a lot of people are buying up VFC lately! A very nice buy and hold for those people. Well done. I do not own any, but am always looking for quality stocks with plenty of room for growth.

    1. BHL,

Yeah, I have definitely had a couple of opportunities to lower my cost basis....:-) But in the end, I love having this strong aristocrat in my portfolio!
