Altria raises dividend 8.3%---New yield is 4.88%

Today Altria (MO) raised its quarterly dividend 8.33% from $.48 to $.52 per share.  The new yield is 4.88%.  Since I own 150 shares, this will increase my yearly dividends by $24.00.

    1. DGJ,

Hopefully PM will follow MO's lead and then I will be really happy!

    1. Anonymous,

I'm with you. I wish I had bought more back when it was in the low 30s late last year. I think anytime you can get 5% yield or better you can pull the trigger. After all, 5% YOC most likely will become 6% YOC in two years.

      Good luck,

  3. Div Pipeline!

Thanks for posting this. The stock account I run for my mom holds this and I know she'll appreciate the bump. 8.33% isn't too shabby and congrats on the increase to your yield!

    1. No problem Captain. This workhorse rarely gets any love, but just keeps performing year in and year out.

  5. I keep on mixing up my PM holding with MO as I was looking at both nicotine stocks when I bought PM. So no increase for me :(

  6. Relatively new to the blog but it's already one of my favorite to check.

Do you credit your $24 income increase towards your next weeks goal? So you would only need to add $76 in dividend income via new investments?

    1. Matt,

Thanks for stopping by and the question. I don't count raises in my weekly goal to increase forward dividends by $100. However, they will certainly help in my goal to reach $14,500 in forward passive income by year end.

Take care and stop by anytime!
