I just couldn't help myself. I had to initiate a small position in EMR.
- EMR: 30 shares @ $50.87 --- Yield 3.74%
Total capital invested is $1533.05 and this purchase will add $57.00 to my yearly dividends.
Well if I had waited a few hours I could have save $50 on my VIAB purchase. That's ok!!! I used the additional market drop (close to 400 Dow points) to pick up some shares of EMR. I was so close to choosing T, but EMR won on a coin flip. Hopefully next week continues to bring good buying opportunities. I still have a shitload of dry powder!!
What a great way to start the weekend!!
Forward dividends are $3800.00

Nice buy and very nice yield! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteFerdiS,
DeleteThanks for the support!

Great pick! I own this in my Roth but likely be making a purchase in my taxable account as well. Great entry price and yield too! Wish I had some capital to invest today...
ReplyDeleteScott,
DeleteThe markets are finally starting to give us better entry points! I hope the trend oontinues.

Thanks for sharing MDP.
ReplyDeleteWould love to add to this. We'll see how much more it'll drop... if it drops at all.
Cheers bro and keep up the hustle!
Hustler,
DeleteHopefully it finds its way back down into the low 40s like earlier this year! I promise I'll keep hustlin'

Nice pick up MDP, you sure did get this one at a good price. Nice!

Tristan,
DeleteThanks! Hopefully the price drops a bit more and we can get even better deals!!

I love that you even share your transaction statements with us! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteFC,
DeleteNo problem, buddy! Good decisions and bad alike, they are all available for the world to see!

Awesome pickup this is something people always need so I don't think you can go wrong with electric companies
ReplyDeleteDividendsandhobbies,
DeleteYeah I don't think people will stop using electricity any time soon. Along with T, I was also watching GE and it is getting interesting around $30.

MDP -
ReplyDeleteNice work here; almost pulled the trigger on T as well; excited to see it getting back towards the 5% yield range. I own quite a bit of EMR - slow and steady there. I like the ease in price and buy on a 5% dip or so. congrats!

Lanny,
DeleteI should think like this, but I have a hard time justifying buying T above the $32 range. Every year it seems to bounce between $32 and $42. The same goes with SO at the $40 and $50 levels. I think another rate hike drops T a few more dollars. Who knows?
MDP
Keep those buys rolling in. Nothing wrong with EMR. It's a long time holding of mine and plan to keep it for many years to come. I look forward to seeing what the up coming spin off will do for the company too. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteDivHut,
DeleteI'm doing my best to add shares without jumping in too fast! It's hard, but exercising restraint is not my best trait! Anyway, glad to be a fellow shareholder (again)!!!
