Weekly Sharebuilder Purchases

Here are my purchases for this week.

  • WM:  9.81 shares @ $40.69 --- Yield  3.68%  (Initial position)
  • BAX:  5.91 shares @ $67.73 --- Yield  2.90%  (Initial position)
  • ESV:  7.86 shares @ $50.77 --- Yield  5.91%
  • PFE:  12.57 shares @ $31.76 --- Yield 3.27%
Total capital invested is $1600.00 ($400 in each company). The combined yield of these purchases is 3.94% and will add $63.04 to my yearly dividends.

I plan on adding more shares of  Pfizer until I reach a full position.  Baxter should be a good complement with solid dividend growth.  Waste Management is a wonderful company with consistent, albeit slow dividend growth.  I can only assume with continued population growth and a greater focus on recycling this should be a solid company for many years.  ESV is speculative with a high entry yield.  Future dividend growth is uncertain, but should be a solid income producer.

  1. I like the BAX purchase and am definitely on-board with ESV. I did sell off my WM after their last paltry increase but would consider re-entering at some point. These companies should all do well and come with a very nice starting yield.

    1. AAI,

I may have jumped in a bit too soon with WM, but the market is not giving many great entry points. It is difficult to snag cornerstone companies at good prices. Companies like Pepsi, CAT, CLX, and BBL don't tend to stay cheap for long.

      Thanks for stopping by!

    1. S Arun Vivek,

Thanks for commenting. I really wanted to keep adding BAX, but it had a pretty good pop right after I made my first purchase. I will be watching to see if it comes back down below 70.

      Take care!

  3. I was also eyeing Baxter, nice to see that you got it right before the latest decision to split the company. Really nice timing, and here I was waiting for it to dip just a little bit more..

Oh well, it seems so hard to find cheap healthcare companies nowadays. Will you hold on after the split or sell it?

    1. DividendVenture,

Yeah, I got lucky with Baxter. I would have actually preferred it to stay in the mid 60's while I was building a position. I will hold off adding shares for a while in hopes that it will come back down under 70. We shall see.

      Thanks for stopping by!
