Once again the market is tanking and I am buying.
- IBM: 13 shares @ $118.26 --- Yield 4.40%
- BA: 15 shares @ $106.86 --- Yield 4.08%
- ADM: 48 shares @ $32.18 --- Yield 3.73%
Total capital invested is $4684.85 and the combined yield is 4.07%. These purchases will increase my yearly dividends by 190.60.
The Boeing and IBM purchases are quite a bit below my cost basis and the ADM purchase is slightly higher than my basis.
DEFY MEDIOCRITY
Keep a close eye on BA. There's some naughtiness surfacing there.
ReplyDeleteDWC,
DeleteThanks for the reminder. I certainly don't need some kind of Enron in the portfolio. I don't think much will come of the investigation, but never say never.

You've done some very good bottom feeding as of late. Feels like the last half of 2008 all over again - it's great for retirement planning!
ReplyDeleteADY,
DeleteThanks, I actually wish I was a better bottom feeder as is evidenced with my energy purchases over the last couple of years. My best move was selling everything last October-November. That has in hind sight been a very good move!
Pure luck, though.

To my surprise, I'm also an owner of BA as of today. My limit low ball offer of $105 went through while I was at work. I put in the limit order when it was at $120 so I didn't expect to fill anytime soon. Oh well, I'm glad I'm up over 3% now :)
ReplyDeleteAnonymous,
DeleteA lot of put sellers have unexpectedly become shareholders during the last couple of month. I actually have been buying calls with some success recently.

MDP,
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the buys. I agree with those above, it will be interesting to see what happens with BA. I hope for all involved nothing comes of it, because it could cost ordinary people non-involved with foolishness if there is any. Really like the ADM move though!

DG,
DeleteBoeing is a wild card right now that's for sure. Considering they are part of an oligopoly, they really just just focus on making airplanes and their defense business.

Great buys. I picked up 16 shares of IBM yesterday as well. I almost bought BA at $103, but I hesitated a few hours. It went up a few dollars so I skipped it this time.
ReplyDeleteIH,
DeleteGreat job with the IBM purchase. It looks like Boeing is going to be a buy in the $100 or lower for a while. We'll see. My next buy price will be in the $70.
MDP
I like the ADM buy of the three. I may continue to add to my position at current levels. Nice job continuing to pick up great current yield while prices are depressed.
ReplyDeleteDivHut,
DeleteADM has been taken to the woodshed and looks like a pretty good buy. Of course I thought HCP was cheap around $30. It could become a race to $20 at this rate.

MDP,
ReplyDeleteGreat buys, Boeing is especially tempting at around $100 most likely the sec investigation will get resolved over time. I will be adding it to the watchlist.
DF,
DeleteI agree. I think everything is probably overblown. I mean, after Enron and World Com a few years back why risk having the government breathing down your throat or worse possible future bankruptcy. Boeing is too well established to fool around like that......I hope :-)
