Fun times in the market!!! --- TUP, GM, VIAB, TROW, GS

Here are several purchases that I made today....mostly new positions.

  • GM:  60 shares @ $28.36 --- Yield  5.36%
  • TUP: 30 shares @ $53.45 --- Yield  5.09%
  • VIAB:  40 shares @ $40.99 --- Yield  3.90%
  • TROW:  23 shares @ $69.94 --- Yield  3.09%
  • GS:  12 shares @ $141.98 --- Yield  1.83%

Total capital invested is $8291.82. The combined yield on these purchases is 3.83% and will add $317.80 to my yearly dividends.

Forward dividends @ $2500.

I love days like today. I wish I had grabbed some EMR and MSFT,  Maybe we'll get some more great opportunities next week. Have a great weekend everyone.

    1. Tawcan,

Sounds good, bud! You have been absolutely killing it with your portfolio over the last few years. Keep adding to those already massive totals!

  2. It's always nice to read people not being afraid of days like today. Too often people sell out and stay on the sidelines gripped by fear and too much reading into the financial headlines. I like most of the picks. Not sure I'd go with GM. As always, fun to read!

    1. DivHut,

GM is a gamble. I still thinks its undervalued (assuming no recession) and the dividend is sufficiently covered. The financials actually make me a little more nervous. They could drop quite a bit further or make new highs in a few months. I'll be gradually adding to these names in wide intervals.

  3. Gutsy move buying financials now. I like it. I wish I could put that kind of capital to work for me!

    1. Captain,

I won't rush to build big positions in TROW or GS. I would like to periodically add to these names especially at depressed levels.

  4. MDP,

GREAT JOB! I'm loving it. I do own TUP, and have been debating on picking up some more shares there, as well. They've kept their dividend stagnant for two years now, and passed on an increase this year.

    1. Lanny,

Yeah the dividend is static, but at least the yield is relatively high. Hopefully they will start raising again soon, even if only 1 or 2 percent.

    1. Hustler,

No fear indeed! I'll get more aggressive if we see another 600-1000 point down day next week.
