Recent Buy --- JNJ

I took advantage of some weakness in JNJ today and doubled my position.

  • JNJ:  27 shares @ $121.21 --- Yield  2.64%

Total capital invested is $3279.59 and will add $86.40 to my yearly dividends.

While not super cheap, the upcoming dividend increase should make the future yield around 2.85-2.9% which is solid for a company like JNJ.

Also on my radar is GWW, which has fallen about $26.00 today and $60.00 over the last 2 months.

Forward dividends are around $8350.00.

  1. CAH, GWW, JNJ. No shortage of high quality stocks to choose from today. Nice pick up.

    1. DivHut,

So true! I know IBM isn't in your wheelhouse, but it is getting hit pretty hard today after 20 consecutive quarters of declining revenue.

    1. Lanny,

I'll be watching closing for the JNJ increase as well as the upcoming XOM & WFC increases. Fingers crossed!

  3. Nice job buying on the dip. I suspect it will be short lived. JNJ continues to deliver and this quarter was no different even if it missed some analysts expectations.

    1. Captain,

I'll likely add throughout the year and in future years. KO, PG, & XOM are other companies that I plan to add to regularly throughout the next decade!

  4. A very nice pick up. The only issue I have is that the dividend received is not enough to buy another share.

  6. Love JNJ but not at this price point. Doubled my stake in CAH, and expected to see you do the same. LOL! Keep fighting the good fight MDP! Rock on with your bad self!

    1. Anonymous,

Well I don't own any CAH, but I saw that big drop as well yesterday. A lot of health care related companies are performing badly and I may add some more GILD or ABBV soon!

  7. Lots of good value in the market lately. I was deciding between JNJ and CAH. Decided to open a new position with CAH. Can't go wrong with any pick. Nice buy.
