Recent Buy --- RDS-b

It's been a while since I've added to this position.

  • RDS-b:  40 shares @ $53.85 --- Yield  6.98%

Total capital invested is $2160.87 and will add $150.40 to my yearly dividends.

This purchase boosts my energy position to 10% of my total portfolio weight.

My goal is to continue building existing positions, but if GWW drops down into the $170s it will be very tempting to initiate a position. I also am watching IBM as the yield is climbing up to 3.5% and a dividend raise is coming soon, which may boost it closer to 4%.

Forward dividends are $8500.00

    1. vivianne,

I own all 3 of the 4 (no COP) and XOM is head and shoulders above the other 3. They make money in many different ways and have a rock solid dividend that continuously grows. Shell is a better name than BP and protects its dividend at all costs. BP cut its dividend in half after the Gulf oil spill. COP is a minor leaguer and recently cut its dividend by 75% when things got difficult in early 16.

With that said, all four are survivors and throw in CVX and you have a good solid energy portfolio. Best of luck on your investments!

  3. Nice current yield. I'm still not in the energy space nor tech as you know. I was looking at IBM. I made two recent buys I'll be posting soon. You could probably guess which names based on the big drops these stocks had :)

  4. MDP -

Building up that energy position I see. I have my eyes keen on CSCO, CVS, GWW and CAH. Very tempting, very tempting.
